Notes: (This page takes 44 sec to load at 28.8 baud.) Since I enjoy shooting closeups of interesting things, I added this page of some recent photos I took during the ice storm we had. I used what I consider typical photo editing (contrast and sharpening adjustment), and compression (jpeg at 35% compression) on all these photos. I am providing the original unaltered photo and a number of different sizes of the "finished" photo.

Original 1600 x 1200 This is the original photo shot in fine resolution, no magnification, ambient light, autofocus, at about 5 feet.	900 x 1200 600 x 800 Cropped, resized, sharpened, slight contrast tweak.
Original 1200 x 1600 This photo was taken in macro mode, manual focus, no flash, at about 6 inches.	1200 x 1600 900 x 1200 600 x 800 Sharpened, contrast adjusted, then resized.
Original 1600 x 1200 I put my pen in this photo so you could get some idea of the size of the leaves in the following photos. Notice how dark this original is. No flash used. Normal mode, AF, at about 15 inches.	1200 x 900 800 x 600 Sharpened, alot of contrast adjustment, and resized.
Original 1600 x 1200 Macro Mode, flash, AF, at about 8 inches. I tried to get good angle on the ice-encapsulated leaves.	1200 x 900 800 x 600 Here, I was able to bring out more detail by adjusting the contrast, but I think my shooting angle was not the best.
Original 1600 x 1200 Macro Mode, flash, AF, about 8 inches. Same basic shot as previous, except from a different angle.	1200 x 900 800 x 600 This shot came out a little better. That white flaky stuff that looks like shredded mozzerella, are ice crystals that were falling most of the day.
Original 1200 x 1600 Macro Mode, flash, AF, about 4 or 5 inches. I finally got a clue in this one. By shooting at a more upward angle, the flash darkened the distant background, which set off the contrast more, which allowed to camera's passive focus to get a good clean focus point.	1200 x 1600 900 x 1200 600 x 800 No adjusting, just resizing. It was a good clean shot.
Original 1200 x 1600 Macro Mode, flash, AF, about 4 or 5 inches. Shooting at another angle.	1200 x 1600 900 x 1200 600 x 800 No adjusting, just resizing. Another decent shot, I think.
