Using Image Resizing and Other ManipulationsAlso, Some Good Graphics Source Links
| As before, I will give a brief description of what technique I applied. A thumbnail of the actual photo will be displayed. If you want to see the photo in it's full size, click on the thumbnail. Use your browser's back button to return. | |||
![]() 1 - This is the original photograph. Meet Tawny Tigerette. This was taken with a 35mm film camera. (I never claimed to be a photographer!) | ![]() 2 - Since there was a good contrast of light and dark in this photo, I used the magic wand to isolate the subject that I wanted to cut out of the picture.
![]() 3 - Here is the cutout, pasted as a transparent selection into a new blank PSP file with a transparent background. Notice I got some of the rest of the photo with the magic wand. | ![]() 4 - Here I had removed the unwanted part of the picture, and used the erase, paintbrush, and touchup tool to refine the picture.   | ||
![]() 5 - I resized the picture here. Then I filled the background in with grey (to eliminate the white border around the picture when it's displayed). The colors were reduced to 256 and the background was set as the transparent color. The end result was saved in GIF format. | ![]() 6 - This is the result when inserted into an html document. (This is NOT a thumbnail, but the actual picture.)
